Home Made Skin Care - Facials From the Fridge and More!
Well, I love the luxury of a professional facial. But, these days, I have a lot of trouble justifying the expense when I need to allocate more of my budget for food and gasoline. Besides, I feel bad about endulging in expensive beauty treatments when I need to really push hard to save money for retirement and to help my kids get a college education. But I do not want to suffer either. That's why I researched, and tried out, some of the top suggestions for home made skin treatments!
Got a sunburn? Well an aloe plant is a great thing to have around. The juice inside the leaves is famous as burn or sunburn relief. You can also buy commercial preparations that contain aloe, but that will cost a bit more. If you have a sunburn now, and no aloe around, never fear. Natural skin care may be as close as your fridge.
Use yogurt, applied liberally to your face. Do not choose the low fat variety for this use, Apply the yogurt to a burn right out of the carton and let it soak in for 15 minutes. Then wash it off with a wet towel. Your skin should feel relieved and cool. If you do not have yogurt, then mayo works too! And cold, used tea bags feel great on burnt eyelids. So go ahead and make yourself a cup of tea, and then let the bags cool off, and apply them to your closed eyelids.
If you just want a facial to treat dry skin, then do what beautiful women have done for ages and ages. Use honey, a bit of olive oil, and mix in an egg yolk. You can also cook up a serving of oatmeal, let it cool, and then apply that to your face. A dash of milk, the kind with fat, is also a classic treatment for dry skin. Leave the mixture on for a quarter hour, and then wash it off. If your skin is healthy, you can even open up your pores with a steaming towel before hand. Use judgement about the heat of the towel.
If your skin is oily, use an egg white with a dash of lemon or lime juice. Simply beat the egg white, and then add a dash of juice. Apply to your face, leave it on for fifteen minutes, and then wash it off. Your skin should feel very clean afterwards.
You can save money with home made facials, but also know that you are not applying harsh chemicals to your face or body.
