How Much Protein To Build Muscle Do You Need?

This is a question that I get quite often and even thought you may get different opinion on this, most statement are not to far off. With that being said How much protein is needed to build muscle is the question. Most of the research available today suggest that if one exercises regularly that they should take 1.2-1.8 g/kg which is about 0.6-0.9 grams per pound. A great way for you to find your range is to understand your goals that you have in your training - for instance my goal maybe to gain mass and strength train so I am going to need a high range of protein. Your goals maybe endurance and cardio and you may need a lower range it will vary depending on what you want to accomplish in your training but if you stay between 0.6-0.9.

Now for someone trying to gain serious mass or do it professional then 1 to 1.5 pound per body weight is a good place to start. When consuming this amount of protein be very careful because this amount of protein can place a lot of stress on the body. Without enough water consumption this amount of protein can be hard to digest. So how much protein to build muscle you say the answer is very simple you should have an idea of your weight write down your goals and then your protein intake will be very easy to calculate once you have gathered all of the above information.
