How to Realistically Gain 20 Pounds of Muscle

Many people are interested in gaining weight or building their muscles to bodybuilder proportions. Let's say you want to learn 20 pounds, you might be curious as to the fastest way to gain this weight. To gain 20 pounds of muscle is definitely possible although it requires some discipline and effort.

There are, however, some tips that will help you in your endeavors of gaining 20 or more pounds. Firstly, make sure you are eating enough. Your body will need lots of fuel in order to gain the weight and keep the pounds on. You do not want to lose weight which can happen if you do not consume enough calories to fuel your body each day. So, try to eat more than you are used to when you start a new exercise regimen.

Next, this may seem counterintuitive, but you may find that the less you work out, the bigger your gains will be. The most important thing when working out is your intensity. It is much better to do one exercise until failure than to try to do a few repetitions without truly using your muscles to their maximum capacity. It is very important to break down your muscles as much as possible in order that they can grow back stronger later.

Also, make sure that you are getting enough sleep. Sleep is very important in the process of making sure your muscles are able to gain their strength back after being broken down and furthermore, making gains. If you do not get adequate sleep, you will find that your muscles are unable to regain their strength and you will end up losing strength. So, make sleep a priority when you create a new exercise regimen in order to get your muscles to their peak strength.

You should also watch out for isolation training. Isolation training is basically when you focus on one muscle group each day. For example, working out your arm muscles and then the next day working out your leg muscles. However, you will know that the body is not made up of separate items but that all muscles rely on themselves. When you work out your entire body, you are able to help yourself get to the small muscles that you may not hit as readily when just working out single parts of the body. Also, by working out your entire body at one time, it puts your body into a mode by which it knows that it is getting ready to rest after breaking down the muscles and make strong gains afterwards.
