Avoid Cancer and Heart Disease by Consuming Few Saturated Fats
In the United States, there is always a lot of pressure to eat well and to look good, but unfortunately, most of the food that is available is pretty unhealthy. Most Americans like to eat foods that are easy to prepare because they are so stressed that they don't have a lot of time to spend on buying and cooking foods. Often, that means people eat frozen meals or they go through drive-throughs at fast food restaurants. Both of those types of food, however, are often full of preservatives and are high in unhealthy saturated or trans fats. In order to eat foods that are much healthier, people need to search for foods that are low in saturated fat. Seafood is an incredibly versatile food that fits that description and can be easily prepared as a snack or as a large meal.
Instead of planning meals around basic meats like beef, chicken or pork, Americans can turn to healthier proteins like different types of seafood. Most types of land animals contain incredibly high levels of unhealthy fats, and so do the products that are related to them, such as cream, cheese or butter. Yet, seafood is incredibly low in saturated fat when compared to other natural protein sources, and you can prepare it in tasty ways that don't increase the amount of unhealthy fats you will consume. Instead of drenching seafood in butter, you can simply put it on the grill for a few minutes and then sprinkle come citrus over the top. Lemon or lime make the perfect addition to any piece of grilled seafood, as they add a little bit of flavor without adding any unhealthy substances.
Eating foods that have high concentrations of bad fats are not simply unhealthy because they sound bad. After years of research, scientists have discovered that eating large amounts of these unhealthy fats can increase your chances of developing several different types of cancers or heart disease. Both of those health problems are the largest killers in America, so if you can try to eat foods that are only low in saturated fat, you can ward off the biggest health problems most Americans face. In order to live life to the fullest and have a long and happy life, it's really important to seek out foods that are low in saturated fat rather than to eat foods that are easier to consume but contain fats that are known to cause serious health issues.
