It avoids foods that are heavily processed, like refined sugars and grains.
The ratio of carbohydrates to proteins and fats you eat depends on which goal you've chosen. If you're going for maximum fat loss while maintaining your muscle mass, you should generally try to keep your protein intake a higher percentage of your overall calorie intake. Right around 40% protein, 30% fat and 30% carbohydrate is a good target. But again, focus more on the calories since lowering calories is the most important thing. If you're trying to gain muscle, you can eat a little sloppier. Something like 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat will be fine for you.

You can't afford to eat junk because your body just won't get enough vitamins, minerals, and other important stuff.
The best weight lifting diet is any diet that follows these principles: If you want to gain muscle and get bigger, eat more. If you want to lose fat and get shredded, eat less. So many diet programs make this much harder and more complicated than it needs to be.
