A Healthy Meal Is Easy to Plan
There are three main "ingredients" that everyone needs in their diet; carbohydrates, protein, and fat. Many of you may be surprised by the first and last of the three; they are imperative to a healthy eating diet. The hard part, about this, is in knowing what foods have the right amount of each and how much you are supposed to eat every day.
Surprise - again. This is not as difficult as you may think. First off, you want to stick with a 40, 30, 30 rule, 40% being the carbohydrates. What this means is that out of your daily diet you want 40% to be carbs, 30% to be healthy fats, and the other 30% to be protein. If you stick to this rule of thumb, you should have no problem burning excess fat or with your energy levels.
Okay, so now onto what foods have what you need. Natural foods have, and always will be, the foods that we need in order for our bodies to function efficiently. Natural foods are the foods that have been around since the beginning of time; foods that are grown, harvested, butchered, etc. Vegetables, fruits, meats, dairy products, and nuts and grains all fall within in this category.
All of these foods contain certain amounts of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats that you need. Dairy products are the ones that are most likely to give you the healthy fats that you need. Make sure; however, that you stick with the low-fat products in order to not consume too much fat. Same with meats, while these are a source of protein, you still want to stick with the lean meats.
In order to make sure that you are eating enough of each, you need to focus on having a portion of each at all of your three main meals. Portion sizes are also very important. Overeating, even if it is healthy food, is not good for you. Over the years, portion sizes have gotten a bit out of control. Remember, a proper portion should never be more than to of a cup. Also, eating more frequently is key to a good metabolism; try eating something every three hours. This will mean that you will have three main meals along with two to three snacks throughout each given day.
If you put your mind it and make a commitment to yourself, healthy eating comes much easier. If you stick to a good eating plan your body will naturally lose excess body fat and be - overall - healthier. Changing the way you eat will not only help your physique but it can take years off your life. Staying fit and watching what you eat can help you to avoid many of the awful diseases brought about by a lifetime of poor eating. Make a commitment to yourself today and enjoy tomorrow even more.
